Chelsea Urged to Hire 'Excellent' Premier League Manager Over Liam Rosenior
Liam Rosenior
Chesea are currently on the lookout for a new manger after they made the surprise decision to part ay with Enzo Maresca earlier this week.
The Itaian manager did a great job in his debut season athe Blues, leading the club to a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League and the FIFA Club World Cup trophy.
However, things weren't going as swimmingly in the 2025/26 campaign. Chelsea enjoyed a promising start to the season but their form has dipped in recent weeks.
With Chelsea sitting in fifth in England's top tier, a distant 15 points behind league-leaders Arsenal, Maresca was relieved of his duties and the west London club began their search to replace him.

The front-runner to replace Maresca is Strasbourg manager, Liam Rosenior. The 41-year-old, who is regarded as one of the best English managers in the world, has impressed at the Ligue 1 club since being appointed in 2024.
Rosenior was asked about his future in a press conference on Friday. He said, per the Mirror:
"I'm going to talk about Nice because that's my job. There's a lot of noise, a lot of speculation, but as a coach, if you get involved in that, you fail. My job is here, I love this club."
He added: "No, I haven't spoken to the players about it. There's no need, they're connected and I've had a few lighthearted jokes. But we've been focused on our work. The goal is to continue creating great things here.
"In life, there are zero guarantees. You never know what tomorrow will bring. I'm just doing my job. There's already been speculation. I don't want to guarantee how long I'll be here, but I enjoy myself here every day. I intend to continue doing so as long as I'm here. I love this club, but I can't guarantee anything. Nobody can.
"I want to do my job here, it's simple. The reality today is that I am the manager of Strasbourg and I am focused on my position."
Chelsea Told to Hire Oliver Glasner
Oliver Glasner
While it's looking increasingly likely that Rosenior is going to replace Maresca, talkSPORT pundits Jason Cundy and Jermaine Pennant both feel that there are better options out there.
Cundy, who played for Chelsea from 1988-1992, has urged his former club to snub Rosenior and instead target Oliver Glasner, who has excelled at Crystal Palace.
He said: "Oliver Glasner is the one I would go for. That’s where I would go. He has proven himself to be an excellent manager.
"Chelsea are not going to go out and poach the best manager. For example, we’re not going to get Pep (Guardiola). But I think, when you look at what Glasner has done at Crystal Palace, where he has taken them, where they have been. He’s had his own restrictions, by the way. He’s had his own problems at the football club for a lack of investment."
Pennant agreed with his co-worker, saying that appointing Glasner would be much less of a risk. He said: "He’s lost a lot of his key players to numerous teams and he still seems to be able to get the job done.

"Premier League proven goes a long way (when) choosing a manager, it’s huge. If you’ve got a manager who can do it in the Premier League, year after year, especially with one hand kind of tied behind your back at Palace, I think it’s a no-brainer.
"It’s not a risk, as in Liam Rosenior could be a massive risk and if you get managers wrong your club can be in freefall."
Chelsea will be without a permanent manager for their huge Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday evening. Calum McFarlane, Chelsea's U21 head coach, will be in the dugout for the match at the Etihad Stadium.
